Massage can Alleviate Symptoms of Vertigo

Vertigo is the feeling of dizziness that can be accompanied by nausea, loss of balance, and loss of hearing.  I, unfortunately, suffer from Vertigo, and, more unfortunately, am experiencing an episode right now due to a dental visit I had yesterday.

I sat in a dental chair at a slightly upside angle and when I was propped back up into a seated position, those symptoms mentioned above weighted down on me in a nanosecond.  The hygienist didn't notice that I had turned as white as my coat.  And since then I have had numerous occasions of dizziness, most notable when I bend my head forward or backwards, and when I lie down.  I will be receiving a Chiropractic adjustment later this afternoon, thankfully.

I found an article published by Livestrong.  It's a sort of "how-to" on Massage and its benefits to those who suffer from Vertigo.  It helps to alleviate the symptoms, so that you are able to function a little more normally.  Please read this article if you suffer from Vertigo, or if you know someone that does.  You can even share this blog entry with them.  I would be more than happy to help.  I know what you're going through.

Archangel Chamuel, Shoveling, and Massage! Oh My!

I sat in front of the Archangels & Ascended Masters book again on Sunday.  I wanted to connect with another spiritual being for the week, and landed upon Archangel Chamuel.  His name means, "He who sees God." The Archangel of pure love, Chamuel can lift you from the depths of sorrow and help you find love in your heart. He helps us to renew and improve existing relationships as well as finding our soul mates. Chamuel works with us to build strong foundations for our relationships (as well as careers) so they're long-lasting, meaningful and healthy. You'll know he's with you when you feel butterflies in your stomach and a pleasant tingling in your body.

And I'm happy to work with him this week.  He has helped me to emotionally release myself from a past relationship, as well as become more open to the opportunities of new love.  I have found over the course of a few days that my professional relationships are growing stronger.  I have been doing more networking, which is fantastic! I love that I have decided to "pick this up" again.  I love seeing how each week plays out; how these awesomely, bad ass beings have guided and helped me.

Another way they (especially Chamuel) have helped me (in regards to my business) is through my community outreach.  I've been reaching out to the world through the interwebs, most notably: YouTube.  Earlier this week, I posted a little video on a wonderful tip to help you shovel through this winter season.  Check it out:

If the video upload didn't work (or isn't showing up), please click on this link to watch it: Bend Those Knees, Please!

Another little video I've put together is on Scalp Massage and its benefits, specifically if you or someone you know suffers from headaches and migraines.  Check this out, too: A Scalp Massage
Okay, so the video upload wouldn't function properly for this one.  Not sure why.  But that's okay.  You can still watch it by clicking on that link.

Enjoy the videos! I promise you they're quite helpful and informative.  Please share it with others. Thank you :)

Reflexology - What is it?

I'm sure some, if not most, of you have heard of Reflexology.  But I'm also sure that many of you have no idea what it actually is and what it can do for you.  I'd like to take a brief moment to explain to you what it is and its benefits.  And maybe after reading this, you'll decide if it is something you'd like to try or not!

Per the Wikipedia definition, Reflexology is an alternative medicine involving the application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques.  It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work affects a physical change to the body.

So, think of it like a form of Massage Therapy, though separate and distinct.  Some benefits of Reflexology include:
  • Brings balance to normalize the body's organs, glands, and other functions of the body
  • Reduces stress and promotes relaxation
  • Improves blood circulation
  • Assists in managing chronic pain
  • Encourages the body to release and expel toxins and metabolic waste
  • Encourages a sense of well being
  • Can be a preventative modality
  • Is a complimentary and integrative tool to allopathic and homeopathic practice
It is quite relaxing, if I do say so myself.  At times, it can be painful because certain zones or meridians on the feet will indicate areas of the body that need more work, or need more "flushing." But it does produce a relaxation effect, and I have personally and professionally found it to be quite beneficial.  I will incorporate a little bit of it during a massage session.  But in general, if you want to experience a full effect, I feel it would be in your best interest to see a certified Reflexologist.  I see my friend, Helen, at her office: Healing Place in Medfield, MA.  She's amazing and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to this form of healing.  If you're interested in learning more about it, please visit her website:

Archangel Zadkiel, Please Bring Romance, Not Snow. Thank You.

I didn't do anything yesterday.  In fact, I stayed in my pajamas most of the day and took part in watching the Super Bowl.  Prior to claiming my spot on the green chair in the living room, I decided to spend a few minutes connecting with another spiritual being.  I worked with Krishna last week, and wanted to work with someone else this week.  So I sat with the Archangels & Ascended Masters book in my lap, closed my eyes, and asked the Universe to stop my thumb from running along the pages when the timing was right.  I opened the book to Archangel Zadkiel.

Archangel Zadkiel is considered the archangel of freedom, benevolence, mercy, and forgiveness - whether you need to forgive yourself or another.  He helps you release and let go of that which no longer serves you, so that you can move on.  He will quite literally "wipe the slate clean" for a fresh start.  And I thought this was perfect.  I have been thinking a little too much lately, and of a particular person - someone from my past, someone I am still having a hard time getting over.

I want to experience love again, and with someone new, so I need Zadkiel's swift kick to push my past out of me.  I am having a hard time moving on when I am constantly thinking of "he who shall not be named." If anyone is a Harry Potter fan, you will get that reference ;-).  But so, after the Super Bowl I laid in bed hoping sleep would soon succumb me.  (It actually took quite a while for me to fall asleep - I couldn't shut my mind off fast enough.) But as I laid there in the dark, I prayed.  I prayed to him for help.  I whispered everything I have been feeling over the past few weeks and everything I have been wanting in my life.  I basically told him to get "he who shall not be named" out of my mind, my heart, and every cell within my body.  I need him gone.  Completely gone, because it's not fair for me to hang on to someone and something that is no longer there.  It prevents me from experiencing all that I want to experience.

And so after a few minutes I waited for a sign or signal to let me know my prayer was going to be answered.  I started to feel calm and less anxious.  Sleep wouldn't still come for at least an hour, but I wasn't worried like I had been prior to praying.  And I heard that I am "almost out of it." I hadn't quite finished forgiving him for the way he treated me, but it was enough to let new love enter my life.  That would be the swift kick I needed - a new love to release the old.  And I felt it was going to happen sooner rather than later.

Now, as I sit here typing on this cold, snowy morning, occasionally looking out the window to see a snow-laden landscape, I am reminded that it is February - the month of love.  And that this may be the month I have been waiting for.  I still feel calm.  I gave my worries to him and I know he will take care of me.  I look forward to seeing what will happen this month; if there will, in fact, be any romance to be had.  And all I have to say is, "bring it on!"

. . . and can you please tell Apollo (the Sun God for those who don't know!) to bring on the Sun and not the snow? Thanks!
